1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Proppi ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent.

3. Service Description

Proppi is an AI-powered study assistant that processes user-uploaded course materials (lecture notes, textbooks, past exams, homework solutions) to provide citation-backed answers in the user's field-specific notation style. The Service uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to ground responses exclusively in user-provided sources.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Submit, produce, or distribute content that facilitates academic dishonesty, cheating, or plagiarism. Proppi is designed as a study aid to help you learn — not to generate work you submit as your own without proper understanding.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share or that infringes on third-party intellectual property.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written permission.

5. User Content & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all documents, files, and materials you upload to Proppi ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant Proppi a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process, store, and analyze your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your User Content to train machine learning models or share it with other users.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Responses generated by Proppi are produced by artificial intelligence and are based on your uploaded source materials. While we strive for accuracy through citation tracking and multi-pass verification, AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be error-free. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any answer before relying on it for academic work, professional decisions, or any other purpose.

7. Payment & Subscriptions

Proppi offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. The free tier includes limited document uploads and queries per day. Paid plans ("Pro") are billed monthly at the rate displayed at the time of purchase. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Proppi and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Proppi and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings, which will result in the permanent deletion of all your data.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
